Peter Thomas has been with Global CONNECT since shortly after its founding in 2003 as a spin-off of CONNECT, San Diego’s well known entrepreneur-assistance program. His role is to develop a diverse portfolio of clients and projects, and to ensure that Global CONNECT’s work delivers value not only to its clients, but also to the University and the San Diego region. He also manages Global CONNECT’s relationship with the various CONNECT organizations around the world.

Peter Thomas’ career has been spent in international roles in educational institutions. Prior to joining Global CONNECT, Mr. Thomas led International Programs at UC San Diego Extension. For 15 years before that, he managed large intensive language programs, for UC San Diego, and in New York City, and played a leadership role in national advocacy efforts to ease visa restrictions for international students and visitors to the US. Mr. Thomas was born and raised in the UK, and had early adventures in his professional life in Cameroon and Greece. He was educated at Brasenose College, University of Oxford (BA), and Columbia University (MA, EdM).
