Co-Founder and Director, Global Enterprise

Greg Horowitt is the Co-Founder and Director, Global Enterprise of Global CONNECT, based at the University of California, San Diego.  Global CONNECT is a consultancy focused on the development and growth of successful innovation based clusters worldwide.   The CONNECT model has inspired organizations and individuals in 20 countries all dedicated to technology based economic development.  Mr. Horowitt’s views on global innovation systems and their economic and social sustainability has led to extensive public speaking engagements as well as media references, including the New York Times, Forbes, New Scientist, and Entrepreneur Magazine. 

 

Greg is also the founding Managing Director of T2 Venture Capital, a seed stage venture firm focused on the commercialization of intellectual property out of leading research institutions, (academic public, and private), and government funded agency programs. Prior to founding Global CONNECT, Greg was the interim Director of the regional CONNECT program in San Diego. Greg's background has been in executive management, where he held key positions at a Berkshire Hathaway company for nearly 20 years, served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm, and was the CEO of a venture-backed enterprise software company.
